I’ve spent over 28 years creating unique B2B & B2C products & experiences for Entertainment, Defense, Logistics, Healthcare, Financial Services, Automotive, Telecom, IOT, and E-Commerce companies.

As an experienced UX Architect, Designer, and Entrepreneur, I’ve spent my career thrusting & lifting teams to create & market transformational products and magical experiences. As an insatiable learner & seeker, my background is a unique journey starting from my early days as a award wining advertising illustrator, & Disney character animator. I have managed small to large teams within design/UX, product management, engineering, business strategy, and operations.

I have conceived, designed and deployed over 300 global digital products & websites within entertainment, retail, healthcare, military, commerce, social, business intelligence, logistics, and machine learning/AI. These experiences were deployed on a broad set of platforms such as cloud, web, mobility, surface, and appliance computing environments (such as IOT, AR/VR.) I hold several patents within predictive analytics & Machine Learning/AI.

I continue to mentor, lecture and teach on a wide variety of subjects, from Futurism, AI & Machine Learning, Entrepreneurship, Strategy, Technology, Engineering, and Design. I have taught classes & programs at the University of Kansas & the Kansas City Art Institute.

Most recently, I served as the Chief Design Officer of Artificial and Adaptive Intelligence at Oracle, My focus was to create and drive the user/customer empathetic vision, strategy, design, and architecture of Oracle’s Artificial Intelligence solutions; with a personal goal of transforming how people interact with hyper-personalized, cognitive, and intelligent connected systems.

I also paint on the side.

I  continually strive to design solutions that empower users through simplicity and soul.

I worked with Matt on the launch of an MVP where there were many potential directions the project could head and several competencies that needed to be applied. VISIONING

How would you create a story that explained how AI worked to someone that doesn’t understanding what AI is?

This was how I created my story.

This video is a combined copy of an interactive presentation used in selling Adaptive Intelligence at Oracle World in 2018.

I use my classical training as an artist & illustrator to visually communicate my ideas, thoughts and recommendations.

DIGITAL PAINTING

My Paintings

My style but derives from my years of learning how to draw, specifically in black & white. By doing this, I learned the importance and shading & contrast. My technique is very similar to traditional paint glazing – where you apply layers upon layers of thin coats of color to create deep richness and translucence. In capturing the emotion, I focus on the eyes, mouth, and body pose. I then frame the composition in a slight “off kilterness,” bringing a sense of humor to the painting.
